The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) and The National Association for Sexual Education (RFSU) are seeking organisations and individuals who would be interested in spearheading a project addressing issues related to Online Gender-Based Violence.
The projects are funded by The National Association for Sexual Education (RFSU). The project aims to make a significant impact on combating online Gender-Based Violence and ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals, particularly women and marginalised communities, who are vulnerable to online abuse, harassment, and violence.
Previous experience in the fields of gender, online safety, digital empowerment, and advocacy against Gender-Based Violence and SRHR would be beneficial.
Funding Information
- The total budget should not exceed LKR 2,000,000.
- The project should target either one, two or all of the outcomes provided above, and the duration is from May 2024 to December 2024, supporting innovative initiatives led by dedicated organisations and individuals.
Expected Outcomes
- Improved access to information, goods and/or resources for survivors of online Gender-Based Violence.
- Examples:
- Developing and implementing activities to combat online Gender-Based Violence, including awareness campaigns, education programmes, and digital literacy initiatives.
- Creating and promoting safe online spaces that are free from harassment and discrimination, fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity.
- Providing support services for individuals who have experienced online GenderBased Violence, including counselling, legal assistance, and online safety resources.
- Collaborating with tech companies and platforms to enhance online security measures and tools to prevent and address online Gender-Based Violence.
- Examples:
- Improved attitudes, behaviours, social norms and practices of the general public leading to the prevention of online Gender-Based Violence.
- Examples:
- Conducting research to better understand the patterns, prevalence, and impact of online Gender-Based Violence, with a focus on developing evidence-based solutions.
- Examples:
- Increased capacities of institutional partners to develop national, multi-sectorial strategies, policies and/or action plans to end violence against women and girls in the online space.
- Examples:
- Advocating for and influencing policies that address online Gender-Based Violence, both at the organisational and governmental levels.

Eligibility Criteria
- Organisations must be registered in Sri Lanka and are required to submit the following documents along with the proposal:
- Company registration
- Audits of last two financial years (2021 and 2022) with management letters
- Draft accounts for 2023
