The Cape Agulhas Municipality is thrilled to invite eligible Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), NonProfit Organisations (NPOs), Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) and Nutrition Centres operating within its jurisdiction to submit proposals for support under the Food Security Soup Kitchen Support Programme.
This programme aims to enhance food security and providing nutritional support to vulnerable communities within Cape Agulhas municipal area, particularly during periods of heightened socio-economic need.
Objectives
- To support compliant and operational soup kitchens that demonstrate the capacity to deliver regular, safe, and nutritious meals to vulnerable groups.
- To strengthen collaborative partnerships between the municipality and civil society organisations focused on food security.
- To promote sustainable, community-led nutrition initiatives aligned with the Cape Agulhas Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must:
- Be a registered NGO, NPO, CBO, or Nutrition Centre operating within the Cape Agulhas municipal boundary.
- Demonstrate active experience in food relief or nutrition-related services.
- Have appropriate governance structures and financial management systems in place.
- Not be contracted to provide goods or services to the municipality.
- Comply with the requirements of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and other relevant legislation.
Application Requirements
- Applicants must submit the following:
- Organisation profile, including founding documents and registration certificate (e.g., NPO, NPC, Trust).
- Most recent annual financial statements (audited or independently reviewed).
- Project proposal, detailing:
- Objectives
- Target beneficiaries
- Project duration
- Implementation plan
- Tax clearance certificate or proof of tax exemption.
- Proof of physical operation within the Cape Agulhas municipal boundary.
- Municipal Declaration of Interest Form (if applicable).
- Signed compliance declaration confirming the organisation does not currently provide procured goods/services to the municipality under contract.
