The UN Women seeks to partner with a consortium led by a national women led Civil Society Organizations – CSOs involving a women chamber of commerce and industry under Sustainable Reintegration for Women Migrant Workers Project.
UN Women in Bangladesh supports the government in implementing commitments to international normative standards on gender equality and women’s human rights.
UN Women Bangladesh focuses on women’s economic empowerment and addresses women’s economic empowerment issues that are central to the priorities of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB). UN Women Bangladesh works with the most vulnerable groups of women – which include women migrant workers, women with disabilities, gender diverse groups, ethnic minorities, and home-based workers, among others – to enhance their voices and economic leadership
Objectives
- The overall objectives are:
- To strengthen gender responsive reintegration approach across different sectors, by building capacities of relevant government ministries/departments to provide services for effective and sustainable reintegration of migrant workers, especially women.
- To strengthen systems and institutional mechanism aimed at promoting market responsive skills development and employment opportunities for returnee migrant workers, especially women migrant workers, through improved coordination and collaboration between key government ministries/departments such as of the MoEWOE, BMET and WEWB and employers’ organizations.
Funding Information
- The budget range for this proposal should be (Min. BDT 23,595,000 [approx.US$195,000] – Max. 23,958,000 [ approx. US$ 198,000)].
Expected Outcomes
- Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment (MoEWOE) has a policy-based, well-defined, coordination mechanism with participation of the concerned Ministries and departments to address the issues of sustainable reintegration.
- MoEWOE, BMET and WEWB strengthen systems that connect employers’ organizations and workers’ organizations to skills development and wage-employment opportunities for returnee migrant workers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals can only be submitted by non-governmental organizations registered in Bangladesh.
- The organization should submit the proposal as a consortium, in collaboration with a women’s chamber of commerce. For the consortium, there must be a lead agency, and all other participating agencies must comply with eligibility criteria. The Lead agency will submit the proposal on behalf of the consortium. The detail of the consortium partner/s and the scope, result area of work of the partner within the project framework need to be mentioned in the proposal. Coordination and monitoring mechanism among the partners also need to be detail out in the proposal.
