The Geyser Community Foundation’s Rotorua Community Fund for individuals, organisations and businesses in the Rotorua District community who want to contribute towards a permanent legacy for the benefit of their community.
Areas
The top areas of needs were identified as follows, in priority:
- Drug and alcohol abuse
- Cost of living, eg budget advice
- Availability of jobs
- Poverty
- Homelessness
Funding Information
A total of $50,000 is available to be distributed in 2021. No gift will exceed $5,000.
The Foundation does not Fund
Geyser Community Foundation will NOT consider applications for funding from the Rotorua Fund for:
- Individual benefit
- Groups that are not incorporated, or not a registered charity, or not a school
- Arts (applications in support of the arts should be made to the Geyser Arts Fund)
- Groups operating outside New Zealand
- Disaster relief organisations
- Groups whose main purpose is to promote a message rather than provide a service; this includes religious groups
- Purchase of land and buildings
- Overseas travel
- Capital funds for the creation of loans, scholarships, grants etc
Eligibility Criteria
Charities and community organisations that benefit the Rotorua District community, including Minginui, Murupara and the surrounding area.
