The Government of Ontario has announced the applications for the Site Readiness Program to provide financial support to industrial landowners to complete a range of due diligence studies so site information is readily available for interested investors looking to invest or expand in Ontario.
Industrial properties that have completed the Site Readiness Program are attractive to investors and site selectors because they have access to important background information on the site’s availability, utilities, transportation access and/or environmental records needed to make a site selection decision quickly.
Benefits
Applicants can receive reimbursement of 50% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $25,000 per application, upon completion of the program.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications must be submitted by the Registered owner(s) of the Site(s).
- Applications must be sponsored/endorsed by either the municipal or regional economic development organization and by the municipal Chief Planning Official or their delegate.
- Applicants are limited to submitting five (5) applications for reimbursement per year. Sites that are currently participants in the Investment Ready: Certified Site Program are not eligible.
- Applicants who have been previously accepted to the Investment Ready: Certified Site Program but are no longer actively certified in the Program (for example: certifications have expired or Applicants have withdrawn from the program), are eligible to apply.
