The SaskCulture is seeking applications for its Small Grant Accessibility Program (SGAP) to provide support to grassroots, unique and innovative initiatives that respond to emergent needs or changes in the cultural sector. This funding round is aimed to support the improvement of the digital technology capacity of cultural organizations.
Purpose
The SGAP-Digital Technology Capacity Improvement (SGAP-DTCI) objectives are to:
- support cultural organizations that are looking to develop their digital and technological capacity, and who do not receive operational grants from SaskCulture and Sask Lotteries;
- respond to technological needs, opportunities or changes. These may be identified through a strategic technology planning exercise. A plan is not required but can be helpful to identify technology needs.
- support the development and capacity of cultural organizations through professional development courses related technological improvement, equipment, solutions, training and developments. A list containing resources for digital skills training and courses for non-profit organizations can be found on the last page of this guidelines document. Please note that these are just examples compiled to give applicants an idea about training opportunities and SaskCulture is not officially endorsing any of these programs. Proposed initiatives are not required to be from the list.
Priorities
Priority will be given to initiatives that:
- new applicants or underserved applicants who have not received a SaskCulture grant this year (since April 1, 2022);
- provide significant opportunities to meet the objectives of the SGAP-DTCI;
- shareable knowledge that will benefit the organization as a whole; and
- are supported by clear plans and budget details.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant amount is 100% of eligible expenses up to $2,000. Please note that it is expected that this round will be competitive an funding is currently available to be awarded to approximately 25 cultural organizations.
Eligibility Criteria

Incorporated Non-Profit cultural organizations in Saskatchewan – All incorporated non-profit organizations must:
- have a primarily cultural mandate in Arts, Heritage, Multiculturalism or Cultural Industries , or otherwise demonstrate significant engagement in cultural activity;
- not have been awarded a SaskCulture grant since April 1, 2022;and
- be in good standing with Information Services Corporation (ISC) and SaskCulture.

Unincorporated Non-Profit cultural organizations in Saskatchewan – All unincorporated non-profit organizations must:
- have a primarily cultural mandate in Arts, Heritage, Multiculturalism or Cultural Industries , or otherwise demonstrate significant engagement in cultural activity;
- not have been awarded a SaskCulture grant since April 1, 2022;
- be in good standing with SaskCulture; and
- have a Canadian bank account in the same name as the organization.
