The City of Mississauga is inviting applications for its Small Project Matching Grant to support community projects or initiatives that can:
- Strengthen neighborhoods
- Increase resident engagement
- Support participation in events and activities at the neighborhood level
Eligible projects will strengthen neighbourhoods, increase resident engagement, and enhance opportunities for Mississauga residents to participate in events and activities at the neighborhood level.
Funding Information
- This program provides small grants of $250 to $2,500.
The Small Project Matching Grant can help you:
- Connect with your members and stakeholders
- Engage new people in your activities
- Implement a project in partnership with another organization
Eligibility Criteria
- The Small Project Matching Grants Program is only open to Registered Groups that are in good standing with the City (eg no outstanding debts to the City and status has been renewed annually) under the Community Group Registry Program policy.

Applicants must be:
- Not-for-profit community groups based and active in Mississauga (note: groups that qualify for “Regional Status” in the Community Group Registry Program are still eligible for funding, provided 100% of the awarded grant funds are allocated to programming/services for Mississauga residents);
- Providing programs and services open to the public and extending the variety and choice of programs and services for Mississauga residents; Providing programs and services that are aligned with demonstrated needs of residents and the strategic priorities of the Recreation and Parks, Forestry & Environment Divisions;
- Project must be outside of the normal range of activity for the applicant (eg a new or pilot initiative). Please note groups may not apply for the same project that was funded in a previous year through the SPMG program. Groups may choose to review other granting opportunities from the City, Region of Peel and other Funders for future funding of their initiative;
- Applicant has not received funding from the City within the same calendar year;
- Applicants can provide signed financial statements from their last Annual General Meeting;
- Project is open to all residents;
- Project will be completed and funding will be spent within the calendar year in which it is being awarded.
