Support Foundation for Civil Society is excited to announce the Turquoise Coast Environment Fund (TCEF) to support the activities of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in the fields of nature and biodiversity, marine and coastal protection.
Within the scope of the fund, the projects of NGOs working to protect and renew the natural environment in Turkey will be supported.
Turquoise Coast Environment Fund – Turkey (TCEF) grant program for the 2023 period in Turkey’s southern and/or western coastal regions, including land and sea connected islands, coastal areas and wetlands.
Priorities
Scope determination was carried out by TCEF-Turkey in order to determine the subjects to be supported within the scope of the fund. In line with this, NGOs operating in the southern and/or western coastal regions of Turkey, including the island coastal wetlands connected to the land and sea, in the 2023 period of the fund;
- Projects promoting sustainable food systems:
- Projects that reflect the future of food systems by preserving, maintaining and rebuilding the existing food-agricultural link will be evaluated under this heading. It will be expected that the projects to be supported under this title will develop a holistic approach such as taking into account and managing all kinds of effects of restorative agriculture strategies and food production systems.
- Projects with an ecosystem-based management approach for biodiversity conservation:
- Innovative approaches that promote holistic, cross-sectoral, local to national, transparent, adaptive, inclusive and participatory management of coastal use, including projects that address terrestrial and marine biodiversity, small-scale fisheries and other resources will be evaluated under this heading.
- Projects aiming to legally and institutionally support and strengthen NGOs working in the field of conservation:
- Projects aimed at strengthening the capacities of local organizations in various thematic areas will be supported, including advocacy, networking and developing the ability to access accurate data and information within the relevant areas in which they want to mobilize protection action.
- Applications can also be made with projects that include other focus areas compatible with the priority areas (Fresh water systems, climate change, invasive alien species, marine and nature education, awareness studies, etc.).
- Providing measurable and sustainable impacts and potential for system change of the project proposals to be presented in accordance with the priorities; It is expected to offer opportunities for reproducibility and scaling, such as capacity building and opportunities to engage a wide range of stakeholders among local communities.
Funding Information
- The upper grant limit for applications to Turquoise Coast Environment Fund – Turkey is 220.000 TL.
- The total amount of the grant to be distributed to NGOs within the scope of the fund is at least 1,250,000 TL . The Evaluation Committee reserves the right to not positively evaluate the applications made within the framework of the criteria and if it deems necessary, or to increase or decrease the amount of the grant to be distributed.
- Duration: Maximum 12 months.
Geographical Scope
- TCEF will support projects in the southern and/or western coastal regions of Turkey, including land- and sea-connected island coastal wetlands.
Eligibility Criteria
- Associations, foundations, cooperatives and other non-profit organizations established in Turkey,
- Organizations that have been active in the field for at least one year,
- Organizations with 2022 revenues between 30,000 TL and 3,000,000 TL,
- Organizations with experience, institutional capacity and vision in the relevant field.
- Professional chambers, bar associations, social assistance and solidarity foundations, companies, universities, public institutions and local administrations and structures without legal personality cannot benefit from the fund. However, it is possible for the applicant institutions to cooperate with these institutions and organizations.
