Call for Proposals: Support to CSO's Development Work (Papua New Guinea)

Unitarian Universalist Funding Program is currently inviting non-Unitarian Universalist groups in the U.S. and Canada.

Types of Fund

  1. Fund for Unitarian Universalism: Makes grants to strengthen UU institutions and community life.
  2. Fund for UU Social Responsibility: Makes grants to projects that increase UU involvement in social responsibility.
  3. Fund for International Unitarian Universalism: Makes grants to strengthen Unitarian / Universalist organizations or projects working internationally.
  4. Fund for a Just Society: Makes grants to nonprofit organizations addressing issues of social and economic justice.

Funding Information

  1. Fund for Unitarian Universalism: The maximum grant is $20,000. The average grant is $8,000.
  2. Fund for UU Social Responsibility: The maximum grant is $20,000. The average grant is 8,800.
  3. Fund for International Unitarian Universalism: The maximum grant is $20,000. Challenge grants are a possibility.
  4. Fund for a Just Society: The maximum grant is $15,000. Most grants are between $6,000 and $8,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Fund for Unitarian Universalism: Priority is given to innovative, challenging or experimental programs that will have wide denominational impact or that address needs unmet by the institutional structure of the denomination. They rarely make grants for projects where the impact is limited to the applicant organization. Applications for conferences or meetings must detail measurable outcomes, products or services that will result from the event. They prefer projects with plans for income from diverse sources, including contributions from the members of the group applying.
  2. Fund for UU Social Responsibility: Priority is given to new programs and those at a point of significant growth. Priority is given to work creating social and economic justice. They prefer projects with income from diverse sources and expect contributions from the members of the applicant organization.
  3. Fund for International Unitarian Universalism: Priority is given to innovative, challenging or experimental programs or projects that address needs unmet by institutional structures. They prefer projects with plans for generating income from diverse sources, including contributions from members of the group applying.
  4. Fund for a Just Society: Priority is given to active, specific campaigns to create change in the economic, social, and political structures that affect their lives. The program expects the organization’s infrastructure, including leadership, membership and systems of accountability to be developed by the time of the application. Projects that are less likely to receive conventional funding because of the innovative or challenging nature of the work or the economic and social status of the constituency are welcome.
