The National Designated Authority of the Green Climate Fund in Albania, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, has launched an open call for project proposals with the purpose of gathering ideas for strategic projects under the GCF Readiness Support Project on “Developing the Capacities of Albania for an Effective Engagement with the Green Climate Fund”.
The identification of such strategic projects ideas is expected to further strengthen stakeholder’s engagement, while ensuring a coherent national approach to climate finance and prioritization needs.
Priority Areas
The identified ideas should fall under one or some of following thematic priorities:
Mitigation
- Reduced emissions from:
- Energy access and power generation;
- Low emission transport;
- Buildings, cities and industries and appliances;
- Forestry and land use.
Adaptation
- Increased resilience of:
- Most vulnerable people and communities;
- Health and well-being, and food and water security;
- Infrastructure and built environment;
- Ecosystem and ecosystem services.
How to Apply
The ministry welcomes potential applicants from the public or private sectors, to submit their ideas for strategic projects as per the Project Identification Form, at the Ministry of Tourism and Environment via email at the address given on the website.
