“Supporting Her Empowerment via Digital Tools” Funding Call for Indian NPOs and NGOs

The U.S. Embassy’s North India Office  is inviting proposals for a project entitled “Supporting Her Empowerment via Digital Tools” to increase and broaden women artisans’ market access by facilitating training for CSO and NGO representatives on digital tools and strategies required to grow businesses beyond the local marketplace and contribute to the economic growth women artisans and their communities.

The objectives of this program is to  develop and execute a series of three two-day workshops that provide CSO and NGO representatives working with women artisans in North India with digital tools to increase their competitiveness in online markets.

Under this program, the grantee will organize and implement three 2-day workshops on “Digital Strategies for Business” in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; Jaipur, Rajasthan; and Ludhiana, Punjab for a minimum of ten and a maximum of 15 CSO/NGO representatives in each program city.

The workshops should include hands-on training that will teach participants in each city how to use commercially-available technology to sell art and/or related products online.  The workshops should also include a “train-the-trainer” teaching methodology to allow participants to share their new skills with women artisans from far-flung and rural areas, and within their communities.  Each participant must produce an initial idea to execute by the end of the workshops.

The goal of this funding opportunity is to increase women artisans’ economic empowerment in North India by educating and training local CSOs and NGOs on the digital tools and strategies required to grow businesses that contribute to the economic growth of their communities.
