Supporting Women to Succeed Grants Program 2021 – Australia

The Tasmanian Government has announced the applications for Supporting Women to Succeed Grants Program 2021 to support the advancement of women across all areas of their economy, by funding initiatives that support women’s employment throughout Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Government is committed to creating a more inclusive Tasmania that empowers and enables women and girls to fully participate in Tasmania’s economic, social, political and community life.

Focus Areas

Applications are sought for projects that:

• Improve the attraction of women to non-traditional fields of employment.
• Increase the recruitment of women into non-traditional fields of employment.
• Support the retention of women in non-traditional fields of employment.
• Promote leadership pathways for women in their chosen fields of employment.

Funding Information

• Grants of between $10 000 and $200 000 are available for organisations to support cultural change and improve outcomes for women in industry.

Outcomes Areas

To be considered for funding, your application must address one or more of the following outcomes:

• Attraction:
  • Improve the attraction of women and girls to non-traditional fields of employment. The types of projects funded may include but are not limited to:
    • Developing resources and educative materials on employment pathways for women and girls.
    • New ways to connect women and girls with, and strengthen their ability to engage in, training pathways, employment opportunities or career progression in non-traditional industries.
    • Initiatives that address barriers to women’s participation in the field of employment.
    • Initiatives that support long-term cultural change to reduce barriers to women’s participation.
• Recruitment
  • Increase the recruitment of women into non-traditional fields of employment. The types of projects funded may include but are not limited to:
    • Initiatives that promote and encourage cultural change and the value of gender diversity.
    • Developing resources and educative materials for industry, schools, or the community.
    • Developing resources and tools for recruitment campaigns targeting women.
• Retention:
  • Support the retention of women in non-traditional fields of employment. The types of projects funded may include but are not limited to:
    • Facilities and equipment, including but not limited to amenities for women, and safety requirements to support access to amenities, uniforms and heavy duty vehicle licenses.
    • Developing and reviewing strategies, policies or work requirements to support cultural change to encourage women’s participation.
    • Networking opportunities and events to support women in non-traditional occupations.
    • Mentoring opportunities to support women in non-traditional occupations.
• Leadership pathways:
  • Promote leadership pathways for women in their chosen fields of employment. The types of projects funded may include but are not limited to:
    • Courses, training, professional learning and up-skilling to support qualifications or career progression in industry.
    • Mentoring, internships, observership programs and shadowing opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants and any partner organisations must be recognised legal entities in Australia. This includes the following organisations:

• Incorporated, not-for-profit organisations;
• Local Government Authorities (councils);
• Not-for-profit companies registered under company law;
• Educational institutions; and
• Private or commercial enterprises registered under company law;

Ineligible

The following organisations will be ineligible:

• State or Australian Government agencies;
• Political organisations; and
• Organisations that currently have a grant administered by a Department of the Tasmanian Government with overdue reporting and/or outstanding acquittal obligations.
