The Sustainable Communities through Women’s Empowerment Project, Phase II, aims to further enhance gender climate resilience in Moldova by integrating gender aspects into climate policies, strengthening women’s leadership as climate action agents and promoting smart, gender-sensitive climate solutions.

It is in line with national priorities and the National Development Strategy “Moldova 2030”, aimed at adaptation to climate change and environmental protection. The project also supports the Programme for Promoting and Ensuring Gender Equality in the Republic of Moldova for 2023-2027 and contributes to achieving energy-related objectives by improving the production and availability of local energy.

The project “Resilient Communities through Women’s Empowerment”, Phase II is funded by Sweden and Norway and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) from August 2024 to August 2028.
