The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation is seeking applications from eligible Bhutanese individuals and institutions for its Grant program.

The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTFEC) is the world’s first environmental trust fund, established in 1992 as a collaborative venture between the Royal Government of Bhutan, United Nations Development Program, and World Wildlife Fund.

Program Focus

Fund a Few Core Conservation Threats (Nu. 270 million):

Support Populations Most Affected by Loss of Natural Resources and Biodiversity (Nu.135 million):

Collaborate with Other Institutions to Maximize Conservation Benefits of BTFEC Funding (Nu.45 million):

Eligibility Criteria

Agencies of the Royal Government, local NGOs, grassroots communities and Bhutanese individuals are eligible for support.
