The British Embassy in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan is now accepting project proposals for the 2019/2020 financial year (April 2019-March 2020) with an aim to strengthen capacity of human rights lawyers in Kazakhstan.
Expected Outcomes
They are particularly interested in project proposals aiming towards the following outcomes:
- local human rights lawyers’ increased proficiency in international human rights law with the aim to help them become more effective in dealing with human rights violations in Kazakhstan
- greater application by local human rights lawyers of the international best practice to human rights cases in Kazakhstan
- strengthened capacity and expertise of local human rights lawyers to be more effective in their work
Funding Information
- maximum budget limit: £10,000
- projects are funded for a single financial year running from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020, with no expectation of continued funding beyond this period.
Assessment Criteria
Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:
- alignment with the above mentioned thematic priorities and outcomes
- outcomes are achievable within the funding period
- project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures
- sustainability demonstrating that project benefits continue after the funding ends
- risk and financial accountability procedures
- the organisation’s safeguarding policies that ensure protection of beneficiaries
- overall value for money
