The Embassy of Canada in Colombia is pleased to launch its annual call for proposals for the Canada Fund for local initiatives (CFLI).
The CFU is a program designed to support small-scale, high impact projects in developing countries, which align with Global Alf airs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. The program is directed at projects conceived and designed predominantly by local panners. Protects are selected and approved by the relevant Canadian embassy or high commission. The CFU also serves to support positive bilateral relations between Canada and recipient and their civil socities by deepening contacts and supposing local endeavours.
Funding Information
- The FCIL contribution is between $25,000 and $49,000 Canadian dollars.
Thematic Priorities
- Inclusive governance: including diversity and inclusion of 2SLGBTQI+ groups, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
- Peace and security: with a focus on conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
- Environment and climate action: with a focus on adaptation and mitigation, as well as water management.
Eligibility Criteria
- Local/grassroots/community, non-governmental and non-profit organizations.
- Local academic institutions, implementing local activities and projects.
- International institutions, organizations and agencies implementing local development activities and projects.
- Governmental institutions and agencies of the host country at the municipal, regional or national level, as long as they are involved in local activities and projects.
- Canadian non-governmental and non-profit organizations implementing or working on local development activities.
- Proposals must be completed in English, Spanish or French.
