The Channel is accepting applications to offer two grants of $5,000 each to projects or community groups participating in giveOUTday and working to benefit rural and regional LGBTIQ+ communities.
The Channel will look favorably upon projects that:
- are willing to take a risk / agitate for change / get way outside the comfort zone!
- are community-led;
- focus on areas that are particularly under-funded and/or have low awareness; and
- have marginalized LGBTIQ+ communities at their center, e.g. refugees and asylum seekers, people of color, Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people experiencing homelessness, trans and gender diverse people.

Eligibility Criteria
- All projects must be fully conducted within Australia and benefit or celebrate Australia’s rural and regional LGBTIQ+ communities. How do we define rural and regional? The Channel subscribes to the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ definition. Applicants can search for the Remoteness Area classification of their project’s location here. If the location ranks RA2 or higher, applicant’s project is eligible.
- One $5,000 grant is available to registered charities with Deductible Gift Recipient (DRG) item 1 endorsement, and one $5,000 grant is available to any individual, project or community group as long as it is to be spent in pursuit of a charitable purpose and for broader community benefit.
- Auspice arrangements will be considered.
