The Community Foundation together with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is inviting applications for the Circular Economy Grants to support organisations working within this space to deliver projects/activities that will combat excess consumption and reduce waste in communities across Ireland by either:
- Increasing awareness/understanding of the concept of circular economy and key issues relating to sustainability.
- Adapting projects/activities that will allow organisations to maintain or increase their impact within the area of circular economy/sustainability.
Strands
Grants are available under two Strands
- Strand 1: Building Awareness
- Grants of up to €3,000 to support organisations to design and implement innovative online campaigns which aim to increase awareness of the concept of ‘circular economy’ and its impact on everyday life. Campaigns can be local or national and collaborative projects are welcome and encouraged. Such projects will be given priority during the assessment. For a project to be considered as collaborative, it must be a coming together of two or more organisations that will lead to an increased or ‘outsized’ social impact.
- Applicants will be required to clearly identify a) the planned outcome for the campaign, and b) the target audience/cohort for their campaign (w/ metrics to monitor performance).
- Strand 2: Sustaining Sustainability
- Grants of up to €10,000 to support organisations working within the ‘circular economy/sustainability space to continue/adapt existing work, or develop new initiatives, ensuring that Ireland’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals continues despite challenges posed by Covid-19.
- This call is open for projects addressing the circular economy. When applying to Circular Economy Strand 2, priority will be given for initiatives focused on the following identified priorities:
- Food Waste;
- Plastics;
- Resources and Raw Materials;
- Local Waste Prevention.
When applying online you will be asked to demonstrate the following:
- How does your project fit with the Fund’s criteria?
- Demonstrate your organization’s capacity for the undertaking.
- Provide a clear and realistic budget for the proposal.
- Provide a timeline for the work.
- Provide 3 key outcomes by which you will demonstrate impact/change and how you will measure these impacts/changes.
