The Environment Foundation of Jamaica: Inviting Applications for Special Climate Change Adaptation Fund

The Environmental Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ) in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC), through funding of One Million Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (USD 1.4M) provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is seeking applications for its Special Climate Change Adaptation Fund (SCCAF) under the project “Adaptation Programme and Financing Mechanisms for PPCR Jamaica”.

The Environmental Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ) is a grant making institution established to provide funding to NGOs involved in the management and sustainable use of Jamaica’s natural resources, and in issues of child survival and child development.

Budgets must be appropriate. Only a maximum equivalent to J$5,000,000 can be approved per grant.

Eligibility Criteria

Grants from the SCCAF may be accessed by community based organizations (CBOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), other civil society groups (CSGs) and selected public sector agencies, for clearly defined high priority activities, particularly related to building resilience to climate change and particularly to develop, test and demonstrate approaches, best practices and solutions, contributing to livelihoods protection and poverty reduction.
