The Nillumbik Shire Council is pleased to announce an open call for the ‘This Girl Can’ Grant Program.
This grant aims to support community sport clubs and not-for-profit organisations in Nillumbik to deliver sport or active recreation participation opportunities targeting women and girls as part of the 2022 VicHealth ‘This Girl Can’ campaign from 12 to 18 September 2022.
This Girl Can’ is an empowering campaign from VicHealth to inspire women to get active – however, wherever and whenever they choose, without being judged.
Funding Information
Up to $750 from a grant pool of $7,500
What can be funded?
Funding can assist with costs associated with delivering a sport or active recreation participation opportunity which engages one or more of the following groups:
- Young women (under 18 years)
- Adult women (over 18 years)
- The LGBTQIA+ community (including people who are gender diverse and transgender women)
What won’t be funded?
- Individuals or commercial businesses
- Projects, events or activities that are held outside the Nillumbik municipal boundary
- Projects, events or activities which do not benefit the target groups identified
- Projects, events or activities that will not substantially benefit the Nillumbik community
- Projects, event or activities which are purely social in nature and do not incorporate participation in a sport or active recreation activity
- Sports equipment
- Ongoing operational expenses or core business costs (e.g. administrative costs, maintenance costs, uniforms, utility bills, etc.)
- Projects for fundraising purposes
- Competitions with no community component
- Prize money and awards
- Projects or events with a political or religious purpose
- Events that are fully ticketed with no free or heavily subsidized component
- Alcohol or gambling related activities
- Projects that have received full funding from another source
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
- Deliver their participation opportunity between 1 September – 31 October 2022
- Be an incorporated not-for profit community sporting group or organisation that lives, works, studies, volunteers or plays in Nillumbik
- Unincorporated groups and individuals must be auspiced by an incorporated body
- Hold a minimum of $10 million public liability insurance
- Have acquitted and be compliant with all Nillumbik grants previously awarded
