The City of Port Phillip is seeking applications for its THRIVE Creative Grants Program that aims to increase the diversity of people who access the Council’s programs.
The grant will fund art projects to be presented as part of an event in the Emerald Hill precinct in the second half of 2021. The Emerald Hill precinct is the civic and cultural area surrounding the South Melbourne Town Hall.
Objectives
The THRIVE grant aims to be accessible to everyone. It will assist Deaf and Disabled artists to:
- Achieve Artistic Excellence;
- Show leadership by creating great art and audience experience. And empower others to create;
- Develop skills and experience for their Empowerment and Capacity Building;
- Increase Access and Equity by breaking down barriers for artists and audience; and
- Enhance their Visibility through developing networks.
Funding Information
- Victorian Deaf and Disabled artists may apply for up to $10,000 per project.
- Up to a further $1000 per project is available for access considerations on top of this.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Funding Criteria:
- Applicant must have lived experience of disability.
- Applicant must be able to demonstrate their arts practice.
- Applicant project must be new work.
- Applicant project must be creative, innovative, and have artistic intention.
- Applicant project must impact the City of Port Phillip. (I.e. the people and places in the Emerald Hill precinct).
- The Emerald Hill precinct must be an integral part of applicant project.
- Applicant project must take place in the second half of 2021 in the Emerald Hill precinct in the City of Port Phillip.
- The expenditure for the project must equal the project income.
- Applicant must show that their project can proceed if other funding applications are unsuccessful.
- Applicant project budget must identify all access consideration costs (if applicable).
- Applicant must provide support material.
