Deadline: 31-Jul-20
The Tinker Foundation has launched a call for applications for the Democratic Governance and Sustainable Resource Management programs.
The Foundation funds research and advocacy, experimentation, scaling up of promising interventions, and exchange of knowledge and models – with the overarching goal of contributing to large-scale change in policy and practice. They award grants through three program areas that they have prioritized during the last decade because of their importance to the region.
Program Areas
The project must fall under one of Tinker’s primary program areas:
- Democratic Governance
- Tinker seeks to build on and deepen this commitment by prioritizing projects focused on justice and rule of law. They will continue to review and consider other Democratic Governance projects on an ad hoc basis through our letter of inquiry process but anticipate focusing our resources on these core issues.
- Education
- Their grantmaking in the education area supports projects/programs that improve the access to and quality of secondary education in the region. While they prioritize projects focused on improving secondary education in Central American countries, they invite organizations from across the region to submit projects that aim to improve student learning, classroom teaching, or other measurable academic results. They support projects that are looking to prove, replicate, or scale their impact. Funds may be used to pilot new programs, to conduct applied research and evaluations that will facilitate replication or adoption of successful programs by policymakers, or to generate public and policy debate on the topic:
