The Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs’ Office of Assistance Coordination’s (NEA/AC) seeks proposals that support inclusive economic growth in Tunisia.
Competitive proposals will support activities targeting specific demographics: females, religious and ethnic minorities, youth, and People With Disabilities (PWD). The beneficiaries should receive some combination of soft- and job-skills along with English language training. Proposals which have an innovative approach and/or have concrete outcomes such as professional development opportunities (i.e. internships or apprenticeships) or scholarships attained will be looked on favorably. Relevant past experience can also be referenced in the proposal.
Objectives
- Increase in participants’ ability to compete for and obtain future professional development opportunities (training, scholarships, fellowships, internships, apprenticeships, etc.) in order to prepare to join the workforce.
- A measurable increase in participants’ English skills.
- Educational or professional development opportunities gained by participants

Project Activities
NEA/AC seeks proposals that will empower beneficiaries in the target region by preparing them for future professional development or educational opportunities.
Project activities should include:
- English language training, with a focus on basic proficiency and relevance in the workplace.
- Soft skills training (possible examples being workplace professionalism, practice interviews, communication skills, conflict resolution, how to advocate for yourself, sales skills, et cetera).
- Identifying private sector partners willing to clarify needed skills and provides internship, apprenticeship, and job opportunities for graduates of the program.
Eligible Countries and Territories
In this announcement, they seek to support projects in Tunisia. Within Tunisia, proposals should cover five to seven marginalized communities in Tunisia, with final selection to be decided during the grant negotiation. Proposals should explain the choice of location(s). Please note: Applications that focus on activities in countries and territories other than those listed will NOT be considered.

- Non-profit organizations;
- For-profit organizations;
- Private institutions of higher education;
- Public international organizations;
- Small businesses with function and regional experience in the areas of education and human development in the MENA region.
