The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for funding for rigorous applied research on evidence based tools, protocols and policies for State, tribal, and local law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies to better address drug trafficking, markets, and use that relate to two drug priorities-heroin and other opioids, and novel psychoactive substances (synthetic drugs).

This program furthers the Department’s crime prevention and law enforcement goals by supporting research on drug-related crime to promote effective law enforcement, court, and corrections responses to illegal drug markets (including diversion of legal drugs) and criminal behavior related to drug use.
