The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is seeking applications for the Public Safety Partnership National Training and Technical Assistance Program. This program furthers the Department’s mission by leveraging the vast array of existing resources across DOJ components to reduce violence in some of the country’s most violent cities.
This program supports the provision of training and technical assistance to adjacent jurisdictions surrounding cities selected to participate in the Public Safety Partnership and smaller/rural agencies who have a violent crime problem. The Public Safety Partnership National Training and Technical Assistance Program augments the Project Safe Neighborhoods program, which is focused on reducing violent crime.

Funding Information
- Category 1: Local Law Enforcement Violent Crime Strategy Enhancement: BJA-2019-16070. BJA expects to award one cooperative agreement up to $3,000,000 for a 36-month project period, beginning on October 1, 2019, to support the enhancement and/or development of local jurisdictions’ strategies to address violent crime.
- Category 2: PSP Logistical Support: BJA-2019-16349. BJA expects to award one cooperative agreement up to $3,000,000 for a 36-month project period, beginning on October 1, 2019, to provide logistical support for PSP and plan PSP national symposiums.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants are limited to any national nonprofit organization, for-profit (commercial) organization (including tribal nonprofit or for-profit organizations), or institution of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education) that have expertise and experience in managing training and technical assistance for evidence-based law enforcement programs national in scope.
- In addition, applicants must show the capacity to provide technical expertise in implementing viable research to select law enforcement sites.
- Applicants must also articulate a plan for empowering sustainability for PSP sites.
- All recipients and sub-recipients (including any for-profit organization) must forgo any profit or management fee.
