U.S. Department of Labor: Engaging Workers and Civil Society to Strengthen Labor Law Enforcement

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives - Bolivia

Deadline: 13 August 2018

U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of International Labor Affairs is seeking proposals for its grant programme entitled “Engaging Workers and Civil Society to Strengthen Labor Law Enforcement” to implement a project with the objective of effective engagement by workers and CSOs with the government and employers to improve enforcement of labor laws.

The overarching strategy for achieving this objective is to develop a self-sustaining, long-term capacity among CSOs and workers to strengthen enforcement efforts through activities such as improved monitoring of working conditions, better filing of complaints with enforcement authorities, and effective engagement with employers to identify and address potential violations.

ILAB’s mission is to promote a fair global playing field for workers in the United States and around the world by enforcing trade commitments, strengthening labor standards, and combating international child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking.
