SEARCA launches Travel Grants Program

The U.S. Consulate General, Public Affairs Section in Hyderabad is soliciting proposals for its project entitled “Capacity Building of Duty Bearers for Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Persons”.

The project will build the capacity of officials from law enforcement and prosecution agencies across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha to combat trafficking in persons in their respective states and bring perpetrators to justice.

Note: Applicants are not required to pursue all project objectives and deliverables. What specific subject matter expertise does applicant possess, and which objectives and deliverables are they therefore best suited to pursue?

The Public Affairs Section reserves the right to award less or more than the funds described under circumstances deemed to be in the best interest of the U.S. government, pending the availability of funds and approval of the designated grants officer.

Project Audience

The primary audience/beneficiary in the project includes judicial officers (judges of lower courts who are the first point of contact in prosecution), prosecutors, investigating officers (from law enforcement agencies), labor officers (district-level officials in charge of implementing labor laws) and child welfare committees (quasi-judicial bodies that rule on cases of child protection, compensation and related issues at the district level). The grantee will further engage civil society organizations across three states who will serve as knowledge partners in delivering the training to the above beneficiaries.
