DRL announces Evaluation Innovation Fund – Evidence and Learning Platform

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) has announced an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a project to promote and protect internationally recognized worker rights in Ethiopia.

DRL requests proposals to increase workers’ and their organizations’ knowledge of their labor rights and strengthen their ability to advocate for these rights in the textile and apparel sectors in Ethiopia. Proposed projects should increase outreach to workers and the availability of resources and information about rights at work, including mechanisms to report and discuss grievances, assistance resolving complaints, referrals to service providers, assistance enrolling in social protection mechanisms, and legal assistance to develop and file well-documented legal claims with appropriate authorities.

DRL also requires all of its programming to be inclusive and expects implementers to include strategies for deliberate analysis, integration, and investment in at-risk or vulnerable individuals. Where appropriate, competitive proposals may include:
