U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Office of Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) is seeking applications for its program entitle “Advancing Civic Engagement through the Assessment of Public Opinion” to focus on reinvigorating public participation in the MENA regions decision-making processes and supporting a more vibrant and robust dialogue between governments, business associations, private sector stakeholders, civil society organizations, and citizens.
Advancing Civic Engagement through the Assessment of Public Opinion is an initiative intended to increase responsiveness to citizen, civil society, and business needs and enhance the public’s ability to actively engage their government institutions, developing more informed and relevant policy making.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include U.S. or foreign non-profit organizations; private institutions of higher education, public or state institutions of higher education; and public international organizations with functional and regional experience in the areas of public opinion research and statistical analysis in the MENA region.
- NEA/AC strongly encourages applications from organizations with a strong partnership in the Middle East and North Africa region.
- International organizations with principal bases of operations outside the Middle East and North Africa are also encouraged to apply, but the percentage of total budget actually spent in the region through local partners will be among the elements of evaluation for this competition.
