The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for proposals that seek to bolster and enhance formal transitional justice processes in Sri Lanka with an aim to support Sri Lanka through assistance programs that promote respect for human rights and the rule of law.
This includes supporting the GoSLs commitments to transitional justice through the provision of training to those likely to be directly involved in transitional justice processes, including: judicial investigators, key representatives of the GoSL transitional justice mechanisms, Secretariat and task forces, prosecutors, lawyers, and judges to build their capacity to address complex cases, including widespread or systematic human rights violations.
Funding Information
- SCA anticipates having approximately $1,200,000 available to support approximately 1-2 successful applications submitted in response to this NOFO, subject to the availability of funding.
- Applications should not request less than $500,000 and no more than $1,200,000. Applicants should include an anticipated start date between September 2017 – December 2017 and the period of performance should be between 18-36 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Private institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
