Deadline: 28 February 2018
The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) of the United States Department of State has announced an open competition entitled “Combatting Gender Based Violence in Morocco”.
DRL’s objective for this program is to enhance the ability of Moroccan government and civil society stakeholders engaging on GBV to advance survivor-centered protections. All proposals should include efforts that bring together key stakeholders, including justice and security sector actors, to promote effectiveness and accountability in gender-based violence prevention and response
Program Priorities
- Develop and improve GBV reporting mechanisms and increase awareness of established procedures and mechanisms, including for security and justice sector stakeholders;
- Support advocacy efforts to promote the adoption and effective implementation of comprehensive GBV legislation in line with international standards;
- Support rights awareness and sensitization campaigns to change attitudes that stigmatize survivors of GBV and prevent survivors from accessing assistance and formally reporting crimes, including efforts engaging institutional service providers as well as men and boys;
- Foster key stakeholder coordination and capacity building to promote the exchange of information and best practices in the implementation of GBV-related legislation, appropriately investigating gender-based violence cases, and supporting survivors.
Funding Information
- Award Ceiling: $700,000
- Award Floor: $250,000
