The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan welcomes for its Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) 2021 that awards grants for the preservation of cultural sites, cultural objects and collections, and forms of traditional cultural expression, such as music, dance, and language in more than 130 countries around the world.
Administered by the Cultural Heritage Center, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, the AFCP offers the United States a meaningful opportunity to show its respect for the cultural heritage of other countries.

Submission Criteria
Concept Note for the Project proposals must very briefly address the following using no more than two (2) pages:
- Project purpose that briefly explains the project objectives and desired results;
- Project description that briefly explains how the applicant intends to achieve the project objectives and results, presents proposed tasks in a logical order, and describes how those tasks directly contribute towards achieving the project objectives and results;
- Project timeframe or schedule that identifies the major project phases and milestones, with performance target dates for achieving them;
- Statement of importance highlighting the historic, architectural, artistic, or cultural (non-religious) values of the cultural site, object, collection, or form of traditional expression;
- Statement of urgency indicating the severity of the situation and explaining why the project must take place now;
- Project budget total cost in USD. Note: shortlisted applicants in the second round should present detailed project budget demarcated in one-year budget periods (2021, 2022, 2023,etc.), that lists all costs in cost categories (Personnel, Travel [including Per Diem], Equipment, Supplies, Contractual, Other Direct Costs); indicates funds from other sources; and gives a justification for any anticipated international travel costs;
- Applicant information, including resumes or CVs of the proposed project director and key project participants, that demonstrates that the applying entity (ministry of culture, NGO, etc.) has the requisite experience and the capacity to manage projects to preserve cultural heritage;
- Proof of official permission to undertake the project and the endorsement and support of the appropriate national authority.
