The U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section in Montevideo, Uruguay has announced the Cultural and Educational Grants to support projects proposed by Uruguayan government and non-government organizations (NGOs) and cultural/educational organizations that aim to promote exchanges between the United States and Uruguay.

The Embassy will select, in particular, projects that have a strong link to the United States and promote economic development, social justice, and/or security between their two nations.

Grants cannot be used to fund religious or partisan political activity or for fundraising campaigns; commercial projects or for-profit ventures; individual academic research projects; construction projects; or projects whose primary objective is an organization’s institutional development or an individual’s personal enrichment or career development.

Funding Information

Typically, grants range from $3,000 to $20,000 US dollars.

NOTE: The administrative process to receive funds takes approximately two months, between the time project approval is informed and the time the assigned funds are received.
