U.S. Mission to Afghanistan announces Afghan University Student Exchange Program (AUSEP)

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan is pleased to announce an open competition for eligible organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to design and implement an English language program in a neighboring country that provides professional training for Afghan students under the auspices of the Afghan University Student Exchange Program (AUSEP).

The proposed project aims to advance the English teaching skills of a select group of Afghan university students. The trained students will foster further cultural and educational exchanges by serving as cultural ambassadors for American-style English teaching within their Afghan institutions and communities. This exchange program will provide a unique opportunity to promote interactive, student-centered, and democratic teaching methods in universities across Afghanistan.

The AUSEP will also provide Afghan students with the opportunity to interact and exchange knowledge and culture with the host country’s students from the English fields. The program will create a culture of volunteerism among Afghan English teaching students by having them conduct English language trainings to their universities/ communities upon their return.
