The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Mission to ASEAN is currently inviting applications for its Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Women’s Leadership Academy with an aim to provide emerging women leaders in the private and public sectors with general leadership skills facilitate cross-border collaboration and build an ASEAN identity. The YSEALI Women’s Leadership Academy will bring together ten mentors and 40 young women (ages 25-35) from all ten ASEAN Member States including Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam for a week long leadership training in Jakarta, Indonesia.

YSEALI is a broad initiative with a number of components that include education on regional issues, professional skills-building, professional development workshops in the region, online networking, project seed money, and educational exchanges.

YSEALI Women’s Leadership Academy will consist of a one-week workshop with up to 40 young women leaders and ten mentors.  The academy will offer general leadership skill training with dedicated break-out sessions for specific sectors, a personal goal setting session and networking opportunities with leaders from the region and the United States.
