The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to manage a series of speakers’ programs providing organizational and logistical support in implementing the program throughout Côte d’Ivoire.
Program Objectives
- Abidjan’s Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) program seeks a cooperative agreement with one partner who will oversee a series of speaking engagements on a diverse range of topics. The program will bring together American and Ivoirian experts to engage the public on pressing issues which are priorities for both countries. The program topics will be chosen in tandem with PDS and can include but are not limited to:
- Coastal protection and climate change,
- Ethical Uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Entrepreneurship: developing and scaling a business across sectors
- Civic Engagement: The Future of African Youth: encouraging youth participation
Funding Information
- Award amounts: $30,000
- Length of performance period: 14 months or less
- Number of awards anticipated: 1 award
- Anticipated program start date: October 1, 2024
- Program Performance Period: Proposed programs should be completed in 12 months or less
Audiences
- The program will be open to the public but the grantee should also look to target audiences to relevant topics, ensuring that, in addition to the general public, this is also an opportunity for leaders in their field to take part in the discussions following the panel. If the program is hosted by a university, the grantee should work with the institution to ensure members of the public have easy access to the space.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following organizations are eligible to apply:
- Registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non governmental organizations
- Public and private educational institutions
- Individuals
- Non-profit or governmental educational institutions
- Note: U.S. organizations should demonstrate in country local expertise and have local experts to assist in project implementation.
