Special Rapporteur seeking Applications for 3rd Human Rights Youth Challenge

The U.S. Consulate General, Public Affairs Section in Hyderabad is seeking applications for its program entitled “Empowering Youth to Combat GBV” to conduct a series of workshops for young men and women in identified colleges to discuss various facets and manifestation of GBV to help them make changes in their own lives, and in their friend circles, families, neighborhoods and communities.

The main workshops will address social issues such as patriarchy and GBV. The grantee, in consultation with PAS Hyderabad, will identify one NGO in each of the identified cities to conduct 10 weekend workshops in 10 underserved colleges, covering a total of 900 participants (30 participants per college X 10 colleges X 3 cities). The workshops will be for two full days – the first day will introduce concepts on gender including patriarchy, gender discrimination, gender based violence while the second day will be dedicated to identifying next steps to address GBV issues.
