U.S. Mission to Myanmar: YSEALI Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth Regional Workshop

Shelter & Safety Program Area 2021 Grant – US

Deadline: 31 August 2017

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Rangoon announces an open competition for a cooperative agreement to develop and implement a six-day workshop (inclusive of arrival and departure days) in Rangoon on Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth for the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI).

The program will bring together 40 to 50 YSEALI members from across ASEAN countries who have economic or business backgrounds, a commitment to social entrepreneurship, and leadership potential. This workshop examines social entrepreneurship as a powerful tool for economic empowerment with an emphasis on youth entrepreneurship. Economic growth and prosperity that occurs in tandem with societal transformation or community development can act as a catalyst to engender even more growth.

Objective

This workshop seeks to empower a new generation of business leaders equipped not only to succeed in starting and sustaining their own businesses but to do so in a way that brings new ideas and thinking on how to tackle some of the most pressing social issues of the region: education, environment, diversity and inclusion, and community development.
