With this initiative, the Foundation seeks to strengthen the practice of financing significant public initiatives through crowdfunding – raising funds from citizens.
With International Renaissance Foundation support, community organizations that implement cultural projects and raise community funds will gain additional opportunities to deliver their ideas.
To assist the organizations selected in the first phase, the Renaissance Foundation, together with its partners, is organizing a one-day crowdfunding workshop to be held in early April in Kyiv.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount that the Fund will co-finance under this initiative is UAH 150,000.
- Campaign preparation and running time is no more than 6 months from the submission of the application selection notice.
- If the crowdfunding is successful – the Foundation will fund the project of the NGO in an amount equal to the amount raised through the crowdfunding (but not more than the purpose of the campaign).
Participants of the competition: Non-governmental organizations, public associations, charitable foundations registered in any region of Ukraine are invited to participate in the competition.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria for the first stage of applications:
- the cultural value of the project (the iconic nature of the event, the participation of famous artists, the uniqueness of the project);
- social impact of the project (project value to the community; realistic assessment of the target audience and beneficiaries of the project; relevance of the project to the endemic thematic priorities of the Renaissance Foundation – human rights, inclusion, gender equality, environmental sustainability, European integration of Ukraine, access to quality education, civic education , counteracting corruption);
- the ability of the project team and the financial justification (the realistic nature of collecting the claimed amount through crowdfunding – by analogy with similar projects or substantiating the project’s ability to raise the necessary funds; reasonable and balanced budget costs)
