UN Women has announced a call for proposals to strengthen women’s political participation to support initiatives on gender analysis of the electoral system and promoting advocacy for a gender-sensitive legal framework and electoral system.

The CSO is expected to develop and promote participatory reflection and public debate on the current electoral system, electoral abstention, especially by young people, and the changes needed to promote citizen and participatory democracy.

The overall objective of the program is to support, based on global best practices, policy makers and civil society partners to develop and support the implementation of gender-sensitive legal frameworks. The ambition of the program is to contribute to the strengthening of data and analyzes on laws from a gender equality and non-discrimination perspective and thereby increase the technical resources relevant for the reform and implementation of legal reforms in in favor of eliminating gender-based discrimination.

The interventions expected from civil society organizations are part of the strategic priority “Strengthening the leadership and political participation of women” in the work plan of UN Women. The interventions will help improve the rate of representation of women, especially young people, and promote social norms favorable to gender equality.

The budget range for this proposal should be [300 000 – 350 000 MAD]
