The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is seeking proposals for “Integration of LBTI issues in the training programs, legislative and policy development interventions of UNJP”.
With the generous support by the Swedish International Development Cooperation (Sida) the second phase of the UN Joint Programme for Gender Equality (hereinafter UNJP) has been launched in January 2016, implemented by UNDP, UN Women, and UNFPA.
The overall goal of the UNJP is to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment by means of strengthening capacities of government at both central and local levels and across the executive, legislative and judicial branches, engaging civil society and raising public awareness about gender equality. This ambitious goal will be achieved by realization of the following outcomes:
- Enhanced women’s political and economic empowerment;
- Enabling environment to eliminate violence against women and girls, especially sexual and domestic violence, created in Georgia;
- Advanced gender equality and reproductive rights, including for the most vulnerable women, adolescents and youth.
Objectives
- To integrate LBTI issues in legislative and policy development interventions of UNJP;
- To integrate LBTI issues in an array of training programs elaborated and institutionalized with the support of UNJP
Eligibility Criteria
- An officially registered legal entity as per Georgia’s regulations;
- At least two years of experience in working in the area of gender equality violence against women and domestic violence;
- At least three years of experience in working on the LBTI issues;
- At least two years of experience in working with multi-stakeholders: government, civil society, community based organizations, and UN/multilateral/bilateral institutions;
- General organizational capability (minimum staffing and structure of the organization) which is likely to affect implementation: organization can demonstrate that it has already developed and implemented similar projects
