The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is seeking expression of interest (as implementing partners/NGO) for the implementation of Career, Capital and Confidence: Empowering women garment workers through career mobility, financial literacy and reduced violence against women.
The project seeks to contribute to the empowerment of women workers through three main strategies:
- By linking a selected goup of women workers to existing initiatives that up-skill garment workers, it will create a path to prioritize the training and capacity building needs of women garment workers.
- By introducing women garment workers to and eductating them on the long-term benfits of formal financial sector savings, insurance and selected loan products, it will help women build assets and be more resilient to poverty-causing shocks.
- It will pilot a violence prevention strategy that will help employers and training providers fulfil the requirements of the High Court Directives and instiute measures to prevent harassment of women and also identify community-based measures to improve saftey in commuity spaces, increasing women’s access to services, learning and work.
Objectives
- Support women garment workers to access skill training on enhancing soft skill and begin to build path forward to increase work values, income and career mobility.
- Build longer term financial security for women garment workers by connecting them to financialsector savings, insurance and loan products that will help them build long term assests.
- Develop mechanisms to reduce violence against women workers in workplaces and public places that are most relevant to workforce participation and career development.

Eligibility Criteria
The organisation must have:
- A proven track record on woen’s empowernment and rights of womens programming preferably on soft skills enhancement and financial inclusion; working on ending VAW and working experiance with RMG sector will be an added advantage.
- Managirial capacity to deliver the planned results in a cost-effectiv and proffessional manner and to carry out quality monitoting and reporting under Result based management (RBM) framework.,
- An establishment organisational culture of accountability and commitment.
- Written and transparent policies and procedures such as finance, HR prourement etc.
- A clear system for procurement and sub-contracting with appropriate checks and balances.
- Legally establish and recognised reputation as a leader in its ares of interst.
- A mandate and programme activities that are aligned with the goals and activites of the proposed UN-Women programme.
- Last three years’ external audit reeport.
- Updated CV’s of the proposed team of consultant’s/staff members.
- Last three years annual budget and name of doors/funding sources.
- Legal requisition documents.
