UNDP Belize inviting CSOs/NGOs for Global Fund Small Grants 2019

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently accepting proposals for its Global Fund Small Grants 2019 to support and strengthen the capacity of CSOs/NGOs with the objective of enhancing the interest of key populations at the community level buy into the public health system through the engagement of the key populations and at-risk groups.

This project, funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) sets up a plan for countering the HIV and TB diseases in Belize over the 2019-2021 period, focusing on vulnerable populations, primarily:  MSMs and transgender women, people living with HIV (PLHIV), including vulnerable children and orphans, and TB patients. The project will support prevention, treatment and adherence of PLHIV and TB treatment. To do so, it will seek to advance a human rights framework for key populations and will contribute to the strengthening of national institutions called to support these populations, in collaboration with civil society organizations and other partners. While the country may still be eligible for GF funds for HIV, beyond 2021, this is the final period for which Belize will be eligible for funds to combat TB.

Expected Results

The potential grantees are expected to utilize grant funds to build upon their capacity to deliver psychosocial support to key populations and enhance engagement between the key populations and the government system.

Activities should be in line with internationally accepted efforts to promote human rights and/or reduce stigma and discrimination and/or to build the capacity of CSOs to address key challenges related to key populations.
