CFAs: Strengthening Gender Sensitive HIV AIDS Response in India

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a call for proposals for grants to provide informed research, advocacy and review services of policy and laws to address inequalities to services, criminalization and discrimination of persons living with HIV/AIDS and key populations.

The goal is to identify and discuss key legal, policy and human rights challenges, and to establish and promote a robust platform for engagement between stakeholders such as government and CSOs in the promotion of the rights of Persons living with HIV/AIDS and key populations.

The project specifically focuses on engaging the public to ‘leave no one behind-the furthest behind first’, through consultations with NGO/CSO representatives working in communities especially at the grassroots level.

A key element of project is to address the discriminatory legal regulatory and policy environments for people living with HIV and key populations. UNDP has started engagement with a network of community advocates and is expanding this network to include non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) (along with youth) to increase research, knowledge and advocacy on the legal regulatory and policy environments on persons living with HIV as well persons at high risk of contracting HIV such as key populations.

Objectives

The main objective of the grant selection process is to identify NGO/CSOs with operational presence and capacities to engage in advocacy for key populations and communities and carry out the activities throughout Malawi.

NGO/CSOs are requested to submit one proposal specifying which districts they will cover in their advocacy work and why (a maximum of 8 districts). Each proposal should demonstrate the specific added value the NGO/CSO can deliver in specified districts.

Funding Information

The budget should be detailed, complete, rational and realistic, and must not exceed the equivalent of USD 15,000.
