UNDP Georgia is pleased to announce a call for Low-Value Grant on Civil Society Research Grants in support of PAR amid COVID-19, within the framework of the Project: “Supporting Public Administration Reform (PAR) in Georgia”, implemented with UK Government support.
Purpose
- The purpose of the CSO research grant contest is to facilitate research and analysis in the field of Public Administration Reform, including the COVID-19 perspective and its implications on governance.
- This is expected to contribute to the effective and timely implementation of PAR and advance evidence-based policymaking in the country, inter alia, against the backdrop of COVID-19.
Funding Information
- The amount allocated for each grant will be ranging between USD 7,000 – 10,000.
Topics
The specific topics for the given round of CSO research grants under PAR include researches on:
- The COVID-19 Crisis and Its Aftermath: Public Governance Implications and Policy Challenges
- Assessing Digital-Learning Readiness in the Public Sector of Georgia
- Evaluating Public Participation in Policy-Making Processes in Georgia
To this end, UNDP intends to:
- Support systematic, qualitative and quantitative research and analysis of the ongoing reform;
- Encourage implementation of research initiatives focusing on implications of COVID-19 in the governance area, along with developing solutions to fill the relevant gaps, where applicable;
- Build expert capacity in academia and civil society to act as a partner to government stakeholders;
- Help create a lasting community of practitioners in civil society and government agencies;
- Encourage stronger linkages of PAR related studies with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 (Peace, Justice, Strong Institutions), while at the same time adhering to the Open Government Partnership (OGP) principles and values.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit civil society organizations and educational institutions (including public universities) with at least two years of proven experience in public administration and policy research.
- Organizations should be registered in accordance with the legal requirements of the Government of Georgia and must be able to provide the organization’s statute and debt certificate.
Note: In case an organization is interested in submitting a proposal to more than one topic outlined above, separate application forms should be submitted.
