UNDP: Promoting Peacebuilding and Gender Equality at the Local Level (Libya)

UNAOC, MGIEP, and UNOCT seeking applications for the #DigitalGamesForPeace challenge

Deadline: 1-Oct-21

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications for Promoting Peacebuilding and Gender Equality at the Local Level.

UNDP’s Resilience and Recovery project is launching a second call for proposals to implement local initiatives that propose concrete solutions to building peace, harmonization of societies through inclusion and empowerment of women, youth, persons with disabilities, IDPs, returnees, refugees and migrants via an inclusive social cohesion approach within the municipalities of: Tripoli Center, Benghazi, Sebha, Kikla, Tawergha, Ubari and Zwara.

The project aims to improve the living conditions and resilience of vulnerable populations (including host communities, migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees), in particular in the municipalities most affected by migratory flows, damaged by the conflict and/or affected by the new challenging situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objective

The overall objective of this activity is to enhance locally-led peacebuilding impact initiatives, strengthening mutually respectful partnerships between the UNDP Libya CO and civil society, which have a deeper understanding of local contexts, capitalizing on the expertise, broader networks and closer relationships of local organizations and communities. Partnering with local CSOs will help to ensure an inclusive approach, engaging the most hard-to-reach and marginalized populations.
