The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched a call for proposals for the Selection of Partners for the UN Women Program in Central African Republic.
The proposed project aims to provide multidimensional support to the national fight against the COVID-19 pandemic under two aspects: the prevention of COVID-19 and the socio-economic support of the affected population.
For the implementation of this project, UN Women decided to recruit three NGOs, one per city to ensure the implementation of activities in the cities of Bangui, Bouar and Mbaiki.
The objective of this call for proposals is to establish a working partnership with an NGO specializing and having experience in the promotion of gender, the support and empowerment of women and girls, prevention and response to COVID-19 in the cities of Bangui, Bouar and Mbaiki.
Funding Information
- The overall budget for the project is one hundred and forty thousand dollars (140,000 US), distributed among the different Project areas as follows:
- Lot 1 Bangui and M’Baiki = 100,000 US Dollars and
- Lot 2 Bouar = 40,000 US
- All activities must be implemented over a period of nine (9) months, from February 15 to November 14, 2021.
Expected Results
- Result 1: The affected population of the Central African Republic becomes more resistant to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Product 1: Women and Mies have better understood the preventive measures of COVID-19. For this product, the NGO recruited will provide support to UN Women for activities aimed at sensitization sessions and popularization of messages to populations affected by the health crisis on preventive measures against domestic violence during this crisis and compliance with barrier measures. through the hygiene kits. A series of sensitization among the local population will be organized in the different project areas (Bouar and Mbaiki), based on their collaborative advantage and in accordance with the vision of “leaving no one behind.”
- Output 2.1: The socio-economic resilience of affected women and girls is strengthened. This product aims to provide an emergency response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandernic on the socio-economic conditions of women (widows, heads of households, displaced persons and married girls) etc. These women will have enhanced capacities for the production of ecological clay-based maize washing kits. Also, they will have technical and financial support in the exercise of ARGs following the AVEC approach in order to perpetuate their activities.

Coverage Areas: Bangui – Mbaiki – Bouar – This call for proposals is a first Rape. Secondly, UN Women will conduct an assessment of the institutional, technical and financial capacities of the organization that will be preselected. This evaluation will make it possible to select an adequate partner who will cover the areas of Bangui, Bouar and Mbarki.
Eligibility Criteria
National and or international non-governmental organizations can apply:
- Mastering the Gender and Age marker tools;
- Having an operational presence in the project sites with available staff;
- Having worked with vulnerable women and women as well as on COVID-19 prevention and / or response activities with funding from UN Women or another sister agency;
- Having provided administrative documents (Statutes, RI, NGO Approval);
- Having a head office, an administration / personnel / Asset, equipment, etc.
- Knowing the socio-cultural realities, norms and values of the intervention sites and
- Proposing a realistic strategy / approach for the economic empowerment of women.
