UNDP is seeking proposals from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), including NGOs for small grants to provide legal aid including legal representation, legal awareness and legal advice/counseling to displaced and returnees’ population in Malakai and Bentiu, South Sudan

UNDP South Sudan’s Access to Justice, Security and Human Rights strengthening program provides linkages between justice providers and communities through various activities including awareness raising on human rights, constitutional protection, gender-based violence and access to legal redress; advocacy on legal and policy reform; and support to legal aid initiatives and capacity building of civil society. This includes providing support to displaced and returnees’ populations to access justice and to assure their safe and dignified return, reintegration in communities. To achieve this, the Program is seeking a competent and reputable civil society organization, national non-governmental organization or community-based organization to establish a Justice and Confidence Center (JCC) in Malakai and Bentiu to provide the following services for the displaced and returnees’ population:

CSOs are requested to submit their proposals as potential grant implementers. Applications must include one or two of the locations:  Malakai and Bentiu.  The main objective of the grant is to identify civil society organizations (CSOs), national non-governmental organizations (NNGOs) or community-based organizations (CBOs) with operational presence and capacities in the locations mentioned to provide:
