The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking proposals for its “Services to Implement HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment for Female Drug Users and Female Prisoners for UNODC”.

Through this call, UNODC seeks to work in partnership with a non-government organisation (preferably female led) and provide technical support at strengthening community based interventions for women who use drugs, female prisoners and women living with HIV.

The desired outcomes of this project are increased awareness and, more concretely, increased leadership and commitment to address the broader issues that underlie the vulnerability of female prisoners and aims to influence key informants, opinion leaders and role models to build a positive change.

The purpose of the call for proposals is to deliver four specific results, mentioned below, in coordination with UNODC, National Centre for AIDS and Control, Ministry of Health under the overall monitoring and supervision of UNODC program office based in Nepal.

  1. UNODC seeks to carry out sensitization and advocacy workshops at appropriate locations in select district of Nepal from June- December. These workshops are intended to inform keys stakeholders, encourage dialogue, and respond to their questions/queries about HIV and AIDS issues.
  2. Conduct 2 Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) workshops in prisons to build the capacities of health care provides civil society organizations to tackle the problem of MTCT of HIV in prisons in appropriate members, based on the national curriculum and national certified experts/trainers/resource persons.
  3. Organize 1 workshop/training on Right to Health Women’s Group on the issues of Women living with HIV, Female sex workers, Female who use drugs, Transgender females and also the women partners/spouses of the migrants at risk of HIV infection from discrimination and rights violation in health care settings in Nepal.
  4. Provide/ facilitate treatment of medical issues (HIV Treatment and Care, reproductive and sexual health) and harm reduction (HR) services for female who use drugs by partnering with local community based organisation in select sites.
