United Nations announces Grant Competition to Establish Services to Protect Victims of Violence – Ukraine

The United Nations has announced a grant competition to establish services to protect victims of violence.

The purpose of this announcement is to provide information on the grant competition for non-governmental organizations operating in the Donetsk region, which is conducted by the UN Peacebuilding and Peacebuilding Program, and to explain the procedure for submitting project proposals.

The announcement sets out the criteria for meeting the requirements of the competition, the process of submitting and selecting project proposals, as well as the criteria for evaluating projects that will be selected within this competition.

The overall strategy of the competition is to apply a community-based approach to ensure social cohesion and public safety. The competition is held in the following target area: “Creation of specialized support services for victims of domestic and / or gender-based violence”.

Funding under the grant competition will be provided with the support of the governments of Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland.

Expected Results

In the communities of Donetsk region, new places of safe stay of persons who have suffered from domestic and / or gender-based violence have been created and transferred to the balance of the relevant local government body in accordance with legal requirements for preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence.

Duration

Duration of projects – from 6 to 12 months. Start of project implementation – September 1, 2020.
